Child Protection Workshop - Leeds

There will be a workshop on the 04 February at the Refugee Council offices in Leeds.

Education Leeds will be running a three hour session discussing safeguarding and the legal issues around working with children. This information is very important for anyone who wants to apply for jobs in education, or apply for initial teacher training.

The session aims to:

    • To raise awareness of the varied nature of child abuse.
    • To increase understanding of the current definitions and statistics of child abuse.
    • To examine the different roles of staff within schools.
    • To raise awareness of the signs and indicators of possible abuse.
    • To increase confidence in dealing with a disclosure of possible abuse from a young person.
    • To increase knowledge of appropriate monitoring and recording of concerns.
