Initial Teacher Education courses at Manchester Metropolitan University
Sue Bermingham, Senior Lecturer at MMU delivered a workshop for overseas-trained teachers about how to get onto PGCE and other teacher training courses.
The workshop covered:
- The types of course available – SCITT, PGCE, GTP
- Applying for courses at MMU
- The interview process
- School placements
- Support (at university and on placement)
- How courses are assessed
- The QTS Skills Tests
The workshops was extremely popular, and generated a number of individual questions from participants seeking advice and guidance on how to proceed.
